My HR10-250 has been whining for a long time about not being able to phone home, so I finally got around to buying the TiVO branded wireless-g USB dongle for it. The docs say I need version 7.3 software; I sighed and dragged out a long phone cord and hooked it up and it did its business and went to pending restart, so I did, but it only upgraded the software from something like 6.3 (where it was) to something like 6.5.
I found some information on the TiVO site that said you have to manually connect three times to get a full software upgrade, so I connected three times, but none of those but the first has taken long and none of them but the first have resulted in a pending restart, and my software version isn't going up. I of course restarted and I've connected a couple or three times since.
Anybody got any suggestions? Call DirecTV? Use some nerve pinch on the controller to stimulate it somehow?
