    after you opened the ports did you reboot your tivo and your router? that usually helps. also make sure your windows fire wall is off as well.

      I don't understand what you mean by "opened the ports."

      I have repeatedly tried re-booting everything and it never helps.

      Yes, and they play in every media player I have on the computer.

      It's now Feb. and I've been trying to solve this since just after Christmas. Is there anyone who can offer me any solution?

        Network problems like this are notoriously hard to troubleshoot due to the number of issues potentially involved.

        Can you try just using a crossover cable and going directly from your PC to your TiVo with no other networking components? That should tell you if the problem is the network or software.
