  • TiVo Series 1 can't connect

    I know this is a common problem but nothing I've read in the posts seem to help.

    About 2 weeks ago Comcast purchased the local Cable Co that I have TV/Internet/Phone with. At about the same time my series 1 TiVo stopped dialing in.

    I purchased the Weakness Modem kit which arrived yesterday and I've tried every option I can find, but nothing works.

    The error I get is 'Failed. Couldn't Connect.'

    I've tried ,#319 and ,#396 as prefixes. I've tried with and without *70, and I've turned off Phone Avail Detection and Dial Tone Detection.

    I've tried listening in on a speakerphone but the off-hook trick mentioned in another message doesn't work.

    I've tried multiple local phone numbers without success.

    Current setting for the dial prefix is ,#396,,XXXyyyZZZZ which doesn't work.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    You might want to give Comcast a call to see what they say about using an analog modem with their phone service.
