Tivo 2 DVR cant see laptop

I recently purchased a TIVO Wireless G USB Network Adapter. I wanted to wirelessly network my laptop and Tivo 2 DVR.

after setup, I was able to transfer shows successfully from the DVR to the computer and save them on the Tivo Desktop Version 2.5.1. so, i know connection is working...

The problem is.... I cant do the reverse. I want to be able to view photos and videos from my computer thru my DVR. I go to the "Now Playing" and my computer is not there.... is it necessary to purchase the TiVo Desktop PLUS Key? even to view my photos?

I had that same problem for a while. You don't need to purchase anything. If I remember correctly I had to open up my firewall. I could get things off my Tivo's but not use either Tivo for photos on my computers. I hope this helps.

you were right....all i needed to do was turn "OFF" firewall.
