OK - so you also need to pull the hard-coded IP address out of the TiVo and set it back to DHCP, so that it can get a new IP address from the router.
    Been here a long time . . .

I just did this. An IP number and a Mac number are showing.

The TiVo still won't connect with the Mac. I don't know if this is relevant, but when I set up the router, I was not able to go through the automatic confiugration process for one reason of another. Do I have to configure it manually?

I finally was able to get the router to configured. However, the problem continues to persist. I also can't understand why the network shows up on the TiVo yet the PowerLine adapter has only two lit LEDs (power and LAN) Turbo and PL are off.

Help. This is driving me crazy.

OK - if you force a connection on the TiVo now, what happens?

I'm not sure what you mean by forcing a connection. I did try to set up a network connection. I get an N02 error message about no DHCP server.

Also, just to cover all bases, should I be making any changes in the Mac's preferences?

No - the Mac is fine. Leave that as is.

Sounds like your connection from the TiVo to the router isn't right. Have you tried moving it and plugging it right into the router and setting up a connection?

They are on two different floors. Are you saying if I set up a connection, then moved it back downstairs, it would work?

Why are only two LEDs lit? What does that indicate? Is the problem with the router or the PowerLine adapters?

ANy suggestions? I'm beginning to think the PowerLine adapters are absolutely worthless and am ready to send them back to Weaknees.

I see that the PoweLine adapter that is connected to the TiVo is now intermittently showing all four LEDs lit up. Howeve, I still get an N02 error when trying to connect. Help. Where is the problem?

But aren't you also using PowerLines to go from the Mac to the router at this point?

PowerLines generally work great, but if the power lines in your house are either old, have static on them, or are on separate leads from the power source, you can have issues. But our experience has been overwhelming positive with these. It's amazing how plug-and-play these have been.

Yes, that is the setup. Tonight I will hook the TiVo up directly to the router to try to focus in on the problem. If there are no issues there, I'll have to throw up my hands and trade in the PowerLines for a wireless setup.

OK - sounds like a good plan.

I just realized I can't hook it directly up to the computer to test the connection. There is no TV near the computer to check the Tivo, and I relly don't want to bring the computer , modem, etc. to the TiVo. i think I just have to accept the fact that my old electrical wire will not support this system.

I have one more questin though. When I go the wireless route, do I need just one wireless adapter and a wireless router? Thanks.
