I had a Direct/Tivo RCA DVR39 that died and from reading your forums it looks as if it might be a power supply issue - the hard drive spins only if the motherboard is disconnected. I've since replaced it with an RCA DVR40. Assuming the drive in the 39 is still good, can I use it to upgrade the 40? Will the 39 drive require any reformatting or new software? The 40's software was upgraded to 6.2 so the 39 must have an older version.
