  • GXCEBOT Reboots

I have an older GXCEBOT that I had rebooting errors. I got to the point where it was stuck in powering up and it never booted. I replaced the drive with a replace kit from weaknees. It took a couple days of rebooting and general having a fit, we had one GSOD and it seems to have worked it way passed the problem.

It now reboots about twice a day for no apparent reason. The internal temp has been running in the low 50's according to the control panels. I cleaned (blew off) the dust off the mother board when I replaced the drive.

    Any suggestions?

Try removing, cleaning, and, if need be, replacing the Parlex cable that connects the motherboard to the power supply.

If you need a replacement, we have them here:

    Been here a long time . . .

      Cleaned Parlax

I removed the power parlax cable and placed it back in. Forgot the fan cable and it overheated, shut down. I fixed the fan cable and it is still rebooting every 12 hours or so.

      Suggestions?

If you try disconnecting and reconnecting all cables and then reboot the unit and the problem persists, contact us for return authorization instructions so we can check out the drive. Something could have gotten scrambled but if you just purchased it recently, it's covered under warranty.

I have removed, cleaned and replace the Power Parlex, the HD power cable, and the cables for the HD. What other cables should I remove and clean. There is a another ribbon cable the runs thru the case and to the front panel that seems more difficult to get to. Are there others I should clean?

If you suggest the RMA, would this be for the drive proper or for the whole unit? Would sending the whole unit be more effective if it's found to not be the hard drive?

Sounds like you've done all the right things. If you request an RMA it will be for the drive itself. Alternately, you can authorize the installation of the drive as well for a small fee...just let us know when you contact us at [email protected]

Obviously the drive is currently installed and functioning. Not to be dumb but why would I need to authorize an installation of something already installed. I think I am missing something here.

Maybe it's me that's missing something. Is your GXEBOT rebooting with a newly installed drive replacement?

Yes, I have had the replacement drive installed for about 3 weeks now and it is still doing random reboots.
