  • HD Replacement for SVR 3000

I have a Sony Series II that doesn't power up. If I buy a replacement HD, and then decide to go for a Tivo DT, can I use that HD in the new TiVo as-is or will I need to reformat?

FWIW, I did write a few times to the info address as recommended as the best way to get a reply, but I didn't get a reply there while I did on the forum! <g> Maybe that message needs to be changed?

Also, I ordered a peanut and it was confirmed, but I haven't heard about mailing etc. So, I ordered one from eBay. I guess 2 is better than none.

Drive formatting is model-specific, so the operating system on a TCD54x model, for example, will not boot in a TCD64x model...the dual tuner. You'll need to reformat.
That's all there is to it!

Okay! That's what I thought -- again, sorry that I'm correct <g> but I'll be putting an order in with you soon.
