My Series 2 TCD140060 had the symptom of a failed power supply: black screen, all 4 LED's solidly lit on the face. I purchased a new one and installed it, and now I have a whole slew of new problems. The unit is now emitting a high-pitched whine, which intermittently grows louder/softer, but never goes away. The TiVo interface is extremely sluggish to respond, and video occasionally freezes for a second or two.

Is my new power supply the cause? Could my drive be failing as well?

Oddly enough, as I was writing this, the whine all but disappeared and the unit seems to be behaving itself...for the moment.
