  • HR10-250 Lost Video after Terrible Sound!!

I have an HR10-250 which was working fine and then the unit starting making a terrible sound like an plane was taking off! Lost video to green lines only. Audio continued to work fine. After rebooting twice no change. The minute I plugged in the sound immediately started again. But still no change in Video green lines moving....After another reboot and left unit running for 10 minutes while calling Directv, the terrible sound quit but no change in picture.
Could problem be related to Hard Drive, the power supply?
I want to save this unit since Directv will not sell anymore of the TIVO units.
    Thanks

It doesn't really sound drive-related; it could be power supply or motherboard. Have you tried using a different output method (s-video, component, HDMI) to see if that changes things?

Tried other video connection and it started working after all the noise stopped! Working like normal now.
Any thoughts on what could have caused this strange noise?
How could you determine if motherboard or power supply is on the way out?

Was the old output the HDMI output?

Sometimes when these problems start, they're intermittent. My guess is that it will happen again.
