  • Series 3 Display Problem

    I'm sure you've all heard this before, but "I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this or not." I'm not even sure if it is something I've done, or if it is a problem with my unit. I just hooked up my Series 3 today, and not only does one of the cable cards say it is getting no channels and the other not get anything over channel 100 (I think those are problems with either the cards or with something Comcast has done, and they're sending someone out to look at it), but the front display doesn't show anything. From my understanding, the Series 3 should have a clock and show information on the front. Mine is showing neither. Does anyone know why this might be happening?

    On another note, I'd like to thank this forum for taking the first screen name i tried. I tried about 30 the TiVo.com one and it wouldn't take any of them.

    If you have no screen display, you likely have a bad unit and you should get it swapped out before the cable company rep comes back out to deal with the problematic card. Is it from us?

    Have you tried just rebooting the unit?

      Thanks for the response. I have rebooted the unit, and it did nothing. I finally called TiVo last night, and they determined it was a bad unit. They are overnighting me a new one so that it is here before the cable rep comes over. I did have to front the $799 for it, but that's ok, I'll get it back. I didn't buy it through here, I got it through amazon.com because it was less... I guess I learned that lesson. The whole thing wouldn't have upset me nearly as much as it has, but my wife hates new gadgets, and I got "the look" when she got home and it didn't work right.
