does anyone know a way to do it? i am building a new house and want to set up my tivo to pipe the HD output to various rooms.

There are definitely ways, but it's not cheap. Long HDMI cables cost a fortune, but they look great.
If you can, get a large HDMI splitter with a lot of outputs, and then run HDMI cables around the house.
The next option (lower cost, but lower quality) is to run component and RCA cables around the house from a splitter. Component does video and RCA does audio.Been here a long time . . . -
can you recommend a hdmi splitter that will do about 8 outputs. can the tivo be controlled from each tv with the IR blaster? one per room? i would go with the HDMI cables which i have found in 50 foot lengths which would be long enough for my needs.

I haven't personally used it, but this is the one I hear good things about:
