use hard drive from PC in my roamio with data on it.

I swapped out my Roamio 500 gig hard drive with a WD 1 terrabyte drive I was using for PC backups. I did not format it or anything. It seems to be working just fine. My question is how does TIVO clear the data already on the HD or does it just use only what is left. There was nothing in the TIVO setup that asked me if I wanted to clear the HD of all data.
Need detailed explaination on how the software works dealing with an already used hard drive.

In that situation, it completely wipes the drive. It uses a very different partition structure and just overwrites everything.

Thanks for the information. It is a 1 terrrabyte drive out of a WD My Book AV backup. Seems to work just fine.
