  • video output problems

I looked through the six pages of trouble listings and the closest thing I found was the guy w/ the horizontal lines. I've got the lines, but they rise rather than fall. It's only on some of the channels some of the time, but the same programs are consistantly bad. It started a year or so after I bought my tivo series 2 (2002).

The big problem now is a separation of colors on both the S-VHS out, and the composite (yellow) out. When I hook up the coaxial, it's fine.

The dark parts of face look black and white. There's a blotch/line of color on the colored part of the face. It gives a paint-by-numbers effect.

What would affect the video output for the composite and the S-VHS out, but not the coaxial cable output? Is this something I can send in for repair? Can I buy a new Tivo and have you guys swap out defective parts for good parts? (as you can tell my my frantic questions, I've got a lifetime service agreement on my existing tivo)

Also, if my tivo is lost, can I buy a second one just to transfer my shows over? Is it as simple as plug and play? (I purchased a 500GB replacement drive from you folks about 8 months ago)

    What model TiVo?

Have you tried to use the TiVo on a different TV to rule out interference and other potential issues at that specific location?
