Recorded programs missing from list

I have an HR21/700 with a fairly new 2tb external drive that is show very few programs when I look at the list but is also only showing 25% available space. Before this happened the capacity was around 50% and I had 35 or so series set to record and now I am seeing less than 20. The only possible external factor that I am aware of is some 1-2 second power outages during storms that have happened recently. Any ideas?

I would just try a reboot, and then not worry about it until it really gets down to a smaller number.

I have tried rebooting a couple of times and that made no difference. Is there a different procedure to use with the external drive such as powering it down? My main concern is that I paid for a 2tb drive and now seem to have only a quarter of that plus the fact that recorded programs I wanted to watch seem to still be there but are unaccessible.
