Moving Mcard from one Tivo to another

I have a Tivo Series 3 with an Mcard installed. I am finally setting up my Tivo Premier and wonder if I can move the Mcard over to the new box myself. Does the cable provider see any difference between these machines? The initial call was done by technician from Comcast and it took some doing, several phone calls with various serial numbers. Is that necessary with the new box?

Yes, you can move the card, but you still have to contact the Cable Co and have the card completely reprogrammed for the new TiVo.
