I replaced an SD DVR40 with an HR10-250. I kept the same dish (round, two cables). After getting the card activated everything seemed OK except that I don't get certain local channels through the sattelite, channels that I did get with the DVR40. DirectTV sent out a technician who spent over an hour investigating. After consulting with the technical support and considerable back and forth with the programming people, he concluded that it is either the box's software or the fact that I am not using the dish that comes with an HR10. Perhaps an update to the software was needed, but they system is no longer supported by DirecTV.
Has anyone else had this problem? Would the software upgrades offered by weaknees help? Any other ideas?
