  • R-10 not completing start-up process

I have a R10 that I have upgraded to a new larger hard drive. The power supply was getting weak so I am using a computer power supply to power the hard-drive and the normal power supply powers the rest. Everything was working fine until yesterday.

Now the unit gives me the yellow and black start-up screen
Switches to the black blue and white "Just a few more minutes" screen
After 3-4 minutes the screen goes blank it's like it's not reading from the hard-drive. I put both of my hard-drives in and it does the same with both.
    any ideas ???
If I buy an old R-10 what can I swap to get things up and running?

If you know your drives are good, then the only other options are power supply or motherboard. I'd recommend a known working power supply first. See:

      Thanks

Let's assume the power supply and the drive are good.
      Fan is spinning
      Front light is lit

Can I swap motherboards from another R-10 ?
      Are the motherboards serialized ?

OK - sounds good. You may have reloaded the OS from an alternate partition.
          Been here a long time . . .
