  • New HD not able to recognize Charter TV channels

    Installed new TIVO HD. It freezes when trying to set up channel changing. Previous HDs worked fine with our setup. We can now change channels with our TV remote but not with TIVO remote.

    What exact model is it? If it's a TiVo HD, I assume it's used. How do you know it doesn't have problems?

      Channel Changing

      It is a TIVO 540040 Upgrade Kit. I saved our old HD and can always reinstall it. It works better than this one, which is out of warranty because I was so slow to install it. Guess I'll have to call one of the grandkids to get this working for us.

        OK - I misunderstood. I think it was a high-def TiVo - not a TiVo hard drive.

        If channel changing isn't working, it's most likely a setup issue. Try redoing Guided Setup and paying close attention at the channel changing step.
