So in the past 2 months I have replaced the hard drive and power supply on the tivo series 2. I also ordered a new remote. THis has been due (i think) due to power outages and the tivo restarting. I since have put it on a APC battery backup..

now onto the problem

today when I tried to press the tivo button to get to the tivo screen. nothing happens. The light on the tivo blinks so I know its getting a signal...

I clicked the info button and got to the messages screen, but when I clicked on the done reading message it FROZE.

I am very leary of restarting the tivo after all my previous electronic problems. My question is what could be the cause of the tivo button not working, and i do restart it what are the chances it will fix the tivo button issue

any input would be great.
