The hard drive on my Toshiba DVD Tivo is dying. It's less than two years old, purchased to replace a Sony whose drive died after about 30 months. It seems Tivo systems just don't last that long.
I've ordered and will install a new, bigger hard drive that should get the system back up and running. But what about all the shows left on the old drive? Are they gone forever?
I understand I can boot up Linux on my old tower PC to back up a FUNCTIONING hard drive. Is there NO WAY to back up or restore shows incrementally? How about from a malfunctioning drive?
