Replace internal drive, keep shows?

I have the S3 with the original 250 gig internal, plus a 1 TB external.

The internal drive is starting to make bad noises .

I would really like to preserve my existing programs. Is it possible to do one of the two following things:

-Replace the internal 250 gig with a new 1 TB, preserving settings and shows

-Replace both drives with 1 TB drives, preserving settings and shows

Any possibility either of these can be done?

For technical reasons, we aren't able to do all of these.

We could either try to copy the 250 to a replacement 250 and reuse the external.

Or, we could do pretty much anything, but we'd only get the settings and the shows that are entirely on the 250.

Been here a long time . . .
