Swap Tivo Drives to test

I have a bad Tivo (think the hard drive died). Want to make sure the drive is all i need to order. Can I swap a working drive from my TCD649080 into my TCD540040 (dead drive). Will it work? trying to see if the 540040 will boot with the new drive or if something else is wrong with the unit as well. It died in a power surge. Any help is appreciated.

Nope - those have different OSes, and neither drive will boot the other machine.

Been here a long time . . .
