Video input in a dvr

My TIVO series 1 and 2 DVRs have RCA video input. It gives me the freedom to record from any source. TIVO stopped supplying these inputs. And other than security DVRs, I can't find a DVR that has RCA video inputs. So on to the questions:

Am I the only person that needs/wants an RCA video input on my DVR?

What brands have RCA video inputs?

If there are none, why?

These questions have been bugging me for a long time.

These units still have RCA inputs:

No HD unit has them because the HD video is sent digitally, so they don't have analog converters for that type of signal anymore.

Been here a long time . . .
