Series 1 to series 2 HD swap?

I put a new hard drive in my old sony series 1 dvr and was wondering if it could be swapped with a dual tuner series 2 that I recently purchased?

Nope - different TiVo models use different versions of the TiVo OS, so it would need to be reformatted. We can do that here:

Thanks! So, I guess the hard drive is interchangeable, just a different OS?

The hard drive itself can be re-used, but the proper software has to be loaded onto the drive first.
