  • Series 2 "Serious Problem" error message

My Series 2 has the following error message:
The DVR has detected a serious problem and is attempting to fix it.
This will take about three hours.
PLEASE DO NOT UNPLUG OR RESTART THE DVR!

Been 3 days and system just continues to restart, try to start, try to fix, restart,..........

It's almost 7 years old and I did upgrade the unit with the Hinsdale Upgrade Instructions 6 years ago (as soon as it was out of the original warranty). It's worked great until this week. I seem to remember that when I did the upgrade it required access to the old drive and new drive to transfer the life time service.

If my HD is dead is there a way to upgrade the unit AND transfer the service?

    Thanks for the help
    David

The service is tied to the motherboard of the unit. So a new drive from us will keep your lifetime service. That's your best bet because the software on your current drive seems to be corrupted.

Replacement drives are here, by model:
