Hello .... I need some help ... my Tivo is diplaying a black screen ... I read through some of the previous threads and tried the suggestions ....since I have another Tivo box I first swapped the PS which did nothing for the machine that is having trouble (which I will call trouble here forward) .... the good machine now with troubles PS worked fine .... I then switched out the hard drives leaving the PS switched also .... trouble responded just the same as before, nothing .... again the good machine worked fine .... during all this the indicator light on trouble was always on (green) but the format button would not function to change formats (never light up) .... the good machines format button worked through all the swapping .... I think we are down to the motherboard .... I am not technical enough to check things much further than I have allready but I can follow what I am told to do .... looking for suggestion and guidence please .... thanks

OK - then, assuming they're the same exact model units, then you likely have a motherboard problem. You'd need to pay TiVo to fix or swap that - we can fix motherboards on the TiVo HD at this point.Been here a long time . . .Comment

are you able to tell me what costs would be or is that something that is only discernable after checking the unit out?Comment
