Humax DVD Series 2 Tivo has just begun randomly blooping through menus - making it impossible to watch shows, it will cause it to record shows, etc.

Have replaced batteries in remote, made sure other remotes have been removed to eliminate them as the cause.

The Tivo remote is NOT activating at the time of random bloops - seems to be limited to the tivo itself the orange light lites up just as if someone were clicking the remote.

This has unfortunately made the Tivo unusable.

Is this repairable?

I've looked through the hardware forum and have not seen a similar post but I would guess it might be an IR problem - would a faceplate replacment fix it?
