I have a series 2 tivo. It was stuck on the powering up screen. I replaced the hard drive with a new one from weaknees. It will power up, record and let you watch programs. However, about once a day I will turn on the television and the picture will be frozen. It may be on a tivo menu screen, during a program, or just a black screen.

If I unplug the tivo and plug it in again the machine reboots and works well again.

My remote seems to be working well with the tivo and will turn the tv on and off despite the tivo being unresponse to it.

The tivo does not feel warm and is not stored in a cabinet so I do not think it is over heating.

Any ideas?
