I have a S2 TiVo that is stuck on the Welcome! Powering up.... screen. I replaced the IDE cable and checked all of the connections to the hard drive. It still does not work. I believe that the hard drive is bad. I want to test it, but I only own computers with windows xp. I was told not to connect the drive to a computer that has windows xp. Is there any way that I can still test the hard drive? It is a maxtor 40gb. Thanks in advance for any help.
