I have a Series 2 TiVo 24004A. I've replaced the hard drives a couple times, but currently have dual 200 Gb drives in the system.
A few months ago, it began periodically locking up. To resolve the lock-up, the only thing I've been able to figure out that worked was powering down and then a minute later, powering back on.
Sadly, now even this has failed. At the moment a new and odd message is being displayed, which says,
The DVR has detected a serious problem and is attempting to fix it.
This will take about three hours.
PLEASE DO NOT UNPLUG OR RESTART THE DVR!
It goes on from there, but that's the gist of it.
I'm trying to figure out if I should once again upgrade my hard drives or whether this is a more serious mainboard failure. Other than replacing the hard drives, is there any way to diagnose this issue?
Thanks for any assistance you can offer...
