I've been trying to activate a used Tivo HD for over a month now. Comcast has been to my house several times, and loaded the unit with 6 different M cards and 2 S cards, but each time I get the same error:
The LIVE TV screen displays the no signal message, and the background is either gray or black depending upon what color I've selected for my letterbox. The Tivo works fine without cablecards.
Here's what I know:
The tivo does display the proper channels in the proper locations.
In DVR diagnostics I see that there is no signal lock or channel lock.
Signal strength is nil (-)
The CA Active program screen is devoid of any information.
The CP authorization is: Authorization Received
The QAM modulation fluctuates between 64 and 256. it just bounces back and forth.
To eliminate any signal problems, Comcast laid all new cable from the pole to my house. The signal strength is now +13 (up from 1).
I've had numerous calls with Tivo and Comcast, and no one can help with this. Tivo is adamant that the problem is in the pairing rather than the Tivo box. Comcast is equally adamant that the problem is with Tivo.
Does anyone have experience with this problem? Are there any kickstart diagnostics that I can run to shed some light on my problem?
Thanks in advance,
