  • Replacing a Bad Drive in R10

I realize there is lots of information about upgrading an existing drive or adding another drive, but I don't see anything about replace a bad drive. I can't get a backup from my old drive, but I have a spare that I can use.

I have the msftools iso, and can boot from it and see my spare drive, but it seems I need to be able to somehow create an msf volume first. I can't figure that part out. I see the mfsadd command lets you expand or add into the existing volume, but I can't figure out how to create this volume??

Right - you need the old drive to work to copy the OS off.

    We have replacement drives here:

Thanks. I got instant cake, and a new 160GB drive, so now everything works great.
