I have an SVR-2000 that I upgraded with a second hard disk about 5 or 6 years back, and I just got around to hooking it back up after a move followed by a long period (over a year) with it disconnected. I had the drives pulled out (I NEVER trust movers or shippers with hard disks, I moved every hard drive I own in my truck in a hard disk shipping case wrapped in antistatic bubble wrap). Since I had to put the drives back in anyway, I finally got around to putting a TurboNET card in, which (once I got through guided setup, etc.) works fine. I used a chassis punch to make a hole for the cat5e cable, because they don't make a mess the way drills do.
There's no sign of overheating, chassis temp is under 35 degrees and it's fairly cool to the touch; I have ventilated my entertainment center towers with fans. My Fluke and my 'scope say the power supply is fine under load. I measured at both drives and at the main power connector on the motherboard.
Every so often for no discernible reason, but usually when I'm messing with the menus, it reboots. It happened three or four times while I was trying to get through guided setup, and it happened again while I was connecting the TV cable.
Whatever it is, it's intermittent. Any suggestions?
