I saw that FAQ regarding random stop and starts on the video pointing to a potential bad hard drive. However, on my box, the video/audio plays for about 30s or so and then pauses for about 5-10s and the cycle repeats. This occurs on all channels and even includes the menu screens where you can see the dynamic background graphics doing the same thing.
Is there anyway to run a diagnostic on the hard drive to see if this is the problem? This problem appears to start when we received a service update from TiVo only a few days ago.
Before I drop the $ for a new hard drive, I would like to verify that it is the hard drive.
I have a Humax DRT400 I purchased from Weaknees about 3-4 years ago.
