  • Pioneer DVR-810H DVD drive question

The DVD drive is dead in my Pioneer unit. The Tivo part is fine. I no longer need to write DVDs from the Tivo but I would like to use it to play DVDs so I don't have to have another box under the television.

Is there a non-writing DVD drive that is compatible with the Pioneer that would work as a DVD player? No offense to the fine folks at Weaknees but I don't want to pay $300 just to watch DVDs when I no longer plan on writing DVDs.

Sorry to say, we really don't know of a way to do that. Your best bet would just be a separate DVD player.

      Thanks Michael,

I was hoping that a standard DVD computer drive would be compatible. Thanks for responding.

No - as far as we know, they won't work at all.
