I have a Phillips Series 2 (refurb by TiVo and new HD by WK). It is 3+ years old and has recently started showing diagonal moving wavy lines that are wider and more pronounced when the TV (Sansung DLP - HLN567W) is first turn on and then become more tightly packed (and only slightly less annoying) on the 56" screen after about 5 minutes. The lines never go away. We have tested all cables (and replaced them). We have tested the UPS/surge protector - not that. Tried different power sources - no luck. Even tried going from S-Video to Composite/RCA to test the TIVO ports. The directly connected DVD player and PS3 have no problems. We have DirectTV. The only changes lately were to replace the fan inside the TIVO with a WK ordered fan. No new sound system - no inteference - no changes in the past 4 years on that front. [Sad but true.] We also have a CRT TV with a TIVO downstairs that is just fine. DirectTV seems to be in the clear on this one. I'm stumped. Our guess was a gradually failing output port but all of them can't go at once - right? If not that, then what?
Any ideas? Our TV was just purchased before the HDMI standard kicked in so we don't have that as an option to try.
Any advice would be MOST GREATLY appreciated. I recently lost my job and day-time TV bouts between searching for a new job is my life. sigh.
Thanks!
Jen
