  • Pioneer 810H Audio problem

This machine has been in and running for about 6 years, no issues. Went away, came home and audio input is now not working - video signal is there, no audio. Have tried reboots, connecting to input 2 exhibits same behavior when I try to record from "VCR" - i.e. video there, no audio.

Is this a known issue with this hardware ?

Have lifetime, would like to fix this one ...

Any input or suggestions gratefully received.

BTW: Menu beeps are heard, as is audio from old recordings, so it's definitely the input which is a problem (verified the source is providing an audio signal too).

    Help ...

No, I wouldn't say this is a known problem. Have you tried coax input rather than composite?

    Have you tried new cables?

Cables were tested and good (fed signal straight into amp). Restarted Tivo, with no effect.
Disconnected power overnight, powered up today all fine now. Internal temp was fine before restart. Very strange, will have to see if it recur. Wonder if there have been any software updates recently which got it confused.

Anyway, thanks for the suggestions - I'll be back if the symptoms come back!

It's certainly possible that overheating was causing it, but then it should re-occur before too long. Tell us if you have more problems.
        Been here a long time . . .
