I have an HR10-250 that just began acting up. I recently moved it to a different room in the house following a new dish & multiswitch install (yes, I broke-down and added a non-TiVo HR22, but that's a different story).
Symptoms:
Prior to the move we had begun to see intermittent breakup on certain, but not all, channels. I can't say for sure this happened on one or both tuners. This makes me think a tuner is going out, but it never rebooted or hung. The unit was deactivated as part of the HR22 work-order, and then reactivated, but I don't see how that could cause of these problems.
The unit hadn't been powered down for over a year before the move. This makes me think hard drive. But I'm doubtful that a failing hard drive alone could cause all of these problems.
My first thought is that the power supply *could* be causing all of these issues, but I don't want to put too much into this if the problems are more systemic motherboard issues.
I have a spare hard drive that I can clone. But I'm thinking the power supply is a more likely first choice? There are just so many variables.
Sorry for the length of the post, but I wanted to be thorough.
Thanks for any assistance.
Symptoms:
- Frequent reboots, usually following stutter or complete picture breakup.
- Boots using HDMI connection and appears fine for several minutes, but then the TV displays "incompatible signal" warnings and freaks out. (Apparently this is an issue with Sharp AQUOS TVs. This is an unusable configuration because the TV acts very strangely, and will not turn on/off, switch inputs, audio from the HDMI input comes through on other inputs, etc. The TV is perfectly fine on all other inputs and HDMI devices (DVD, PC).)
- Will not boot using component output with HDMI board installed. Hangs with yellow/orange "overheat" screen just after switching to "Acquiring...." screen.
- Boots fine using component output with HDMI board removed. The HDMI board is one of the newer ones (silver contacts) according to your website.
- Stuttered live TV on both tuners, all channels OTA or sat. Playback of recorded shows is fine over component.
- Stuttered live TV gets better if I remove the access card, however, it still reboots frequently.
