  • Moving content from a DirecTV TiVo to a cable-based TiVo

After ten years with DirecTV and having used to DirecTV TiVo SD and then HD, I find myself going back to cable. I looked into the CableCARD based TiVos offered here by Weaknees. But before moving forward, I do have a question which I could not find an answer here in the forums or elsewhere on the Weaknees site.

Does WeaKnees offer a service that would move the content (media) saved on my existing HR10-250 (DirecTV HD TiVo) to a CableCARD based HD TiVo?

I see on the Weaknees page: Miscellaneous Services From Weaknees, there's a service to Copy Settings and Programming from Existing Drive(s) to new Drive(s). Does this also include recorded media (does that fall into 'programming' described here)?

If this is not possible, would it still be possible to operate the HR10-250 as a player only without the DirecTV/TiVo service on that unit?

    Thanks.

It is not possible to move the content, but if you pull the satellite cables out of your HR10-250 before deactivating it, you should have no problem watching recorded content.
