Short Story
I Have failed to take my B drive from a Series 1 standalone tivo* and put it into a S2 standalone tivo. I order a TwinBreez from Weaknees (WK) with power trip, and installed it into S2 following WK instruction (#79). A drive set to master, B dive set to slave (same way it came in the mail, and in S1). Installed power trip, fan, IDE cable, checked all connection twice and order. Boot up, checked System Information still only 41 hours, same as before. Read long story for more details.
I am thinking it has something to do with having B drive in the S1 first.
??????
Should i have to reformat / 0 zero the drive?
What is the format?
do I need to use MFSLive to do a reformat?

I have a S1 for 7 years works fine. Found S2 at yard sale, works fine for two weeks. I want to remove my B drive form S1 and install into S2 to be its second drive. The B drive was ordered from weaknees in 05-06, installed in S1 adding 160 hours. Worked fine all theses year with out fail.
I had to move the jumper on the factory drive in the S2 from #2 pins to #1. The label on drive and instruction #79 comforted this. B drive's jumper was not moved when it was installed into S1 and then into S2. Jumpers was on the top row across #2-3. After the first fail I removed the jumper from B drive, and failed once more. The system information screen is only reporting variable 41 hours. All my recordings from the past week still play.
I have booted with case off to hear if the drives were spinning up. I can hear B drive spin up then a few seconds later the A drive spins up. The HD sounds just fine, no odd sounds of a failing HD.
I have check the instruction twice. All wires are firm and the correct order. My guess it has something to do with B drive being used in the S1 first. I think a reformat may work. Or I just got the jumpers wrong.
