I have a Directv Hughes Tivo series 2 SD-DVR40. It is about 4 years old. As of about 4 days ago it all of a sudden started to stop and stutter repetedly for no aparent reason. Also it averages about 6 restart an hour. I would like to be able to keep and possibly upgrade it if possible. Can someone please help. Thank you.

Thanks for your help. Im pretty sure you here the same old questions day in and day out. Unfortunately here is another one. Is there any way to save what is on the hard drive? Even when i play the recordings it has a stutter problem. I have another unit that i got at the same time and iam letting my brother use it. Am i better of switching units to see if it is the tuner?Comment

You can only play your recordings on the unit that recorded them. If you have a tuner problem, then the drive (and recordings) may be fine.Comment
