I got here starting on the Tivo forums. I wish I would have known about you before I bought my unit.
I bought this Serie 2 unit on E-Bay. From what I understand the drive is not the original one. It went fine thru all the setup and dial out ok. Got a software update and the guide are up-to-date. But it won't record, the playing now section tell me there an error 51. From what I got, it mean the service number on the drive doesn't match the service number on the mobo. In the system info, the service number says, not available, followed by bunch of zeros.
Can I fix this ? Or do I have to buy another drive ? But then how do you handle the service number on the drive ?
