The Screen just started resizing from widesreen mode to a normal taller picture with gray verticle bars on the side a back again randomly. It does not do this when playing video games w/ an Xbox360....

I'd try the TiVo on a different TV to see where the problem is.Been here a long time . . . -
Normally I would agree but using the same tv but using a different video input such as the Xbox 360 should do the same thing if it was the tv, but I run the video from the Xbox at 1080 and that coming from the Tivo at standard cable resolution. Its only the input from the tivo source which does this. Im going to trying restarting Tivo and checking its connections, but it looks like maybe tivo is starting to go....it's a Humax DTR800 about 5+ yrs old!Comment

Upon disconnecting the cables from the back the video out composite one's, I noticed that the silver shield around one of the connectors came off and was still attached to the cable end. Since this obviously has to do with how the cable is connected I'm begining to wonder if it's not just a connection issue. When the video started glitching again I pressed in on that cable and the picture went back to normal. Is there a way to reattach this shield around the RCA jack permanently?Comment

You'd have to open the unit and resolder the connector.Been here a long time . . .Comment
