    reeeally loud fan in series 2

    Help, even my deaf husband can hear the noise from this fan! We got it for our bedroom, knew it was not brand new, but had no idea it would be so loud.

    We have a series 2 TCD 240080 and I see that there are 2 types of fans listed on weaknees website as replacement options for this model Tivo. How do I order the right one for our box (flat vs. raised).

    Just look at the back of your box and figure out if you need a fan for a fan grill that is flat vs raised.

      The constant fan noise from my first series 2 really bothered me. After one replaced tivo & two replaced dvd-recorders, I finally realized that my TV cabinet was waaaay too hot. I had crammed a cable box, vcr, dvd, and tivo into a a tiny cabinet shelf and then put a plexiglass door on the front to keep my toddler from playing with things. I cut some giant holes in the back of the cabinet, drilled a bunch of small holes in the plexiglass, and stuck leftover molding scraps in between the machines to space them out. The fan ran a lot less once I did all of this.
