Both digital audio outputs (HDMI and optical) on my HR10-250 recently started having dropouts, popping and crackling. The frequency varies but happens most often on HD channels and seems to get worse the longer the unit is on to the point where it occurs every couple seconds.
The analog audio works fine and the video is fine as well from all outputs. The problem exists using my AV Receiver and directly to my TV, so I know it is the HR10-250. It happens during playback of shows recorded before I noticed the problem and live TV as well, but not always in the same place (i.e. rewinding a problem spot and playing again may not have a problem the second time).
My question is could this be caused by the HDMI board, considering that the optical audio output is bad as well, but the HDMI video is fine?
