You could transfer them all to your Mac or PC over the network. Then, if you want, you could transfer them back to the new drive.

So... if I transfer the files to my pc, then back to the Tivo, they will play normally? I've gone from Tivo to pc, but not back. And what about the settings?

          thanks

Right - it's called, unofficially, TiVo-to-come-back, and it lets you put files from your PC back on your TiVo - even files that didn't originate on a TiVo.

OK, do I use the Tivo Desktop normally, or is there something special I need to do? And what about the settings?
              Thanks for the quick responses!

You need TiVoDesktop plus, which you can buy from TiVo for $24.95. Then see the info here:

We haven't done it, but supposedly if you activate KidZone, it'll upload the settings to TiVo.com automatically. Then, they'll download to the new drive.

We're really not sure what all is involved here - it may be easier to just redo the settings.
