New member here. Nice forum. I expect this has been addressed plenty. I have a Humax DRT800 which I have not used for a year. I am not a current Tivo customer. I powered up the unit yesterday and burned a dvd of an old program that was on the hard drive. Worked perfectly. Please direct me to an area that would discuss how this old warhorse could be used. For instance, could I use it to record from a vcr to convert old vhs tapes to dvd's? Thanks. Jack.

Yes - all of the DVD functions should work without a TiVo subcription (burning and playing). But you won't get a Guide, or be able to record any new broadcast shows.Been here a long time . . . -
