Currently, I have Comcast Basic with TiVo Series 2. I am planning to get a HDTV, and will need HD programming. With Comcast, I can get HD programming, and then, their DVR is $15 additional per month. Why should I spend $300 for a TiVo (plus the $12.95 monthly service) when I can get the Comcast DVR for $15? I find TiVo HD Series 3 very hard to justify. Also, I have read that many Comcast customers have had trouble with the CableCards. Comments? Am I missing something?

TiVo versus Comcast DVR?

There's really no comparison between the generic DVRs and the TiVos. The TiVos can do Amazon Unbox; stream MP3s, photos, and videos from your PC or Mac; send video to your PC or Mac; do online scheduling; check email; Universal Swivel Search; Kidzone; Guru Guides; TiVo Cast, etc.
Essentially, the Comcast DVR is like a TiVo Series1, minus the WishLists.Been here a long time . . .
