R10 purchased, new, from CompUSA in Jan 2007.
OK...since my 6.3f update/upgrade....about once a week I get a message to "CONTACT DIRECT-TV TO ACTIVATE DVR SERVICE"----but, my service is activated---and working fine. Not sure if the R10 reset itself in the middle of the night, or what is causing that message. Also, some of the recordings have the "scambled image" during playback....but overall, the recorder is working fine.
Then, last night-----everything that I had on the recorder---prior to 2/10 as deleted---and, all remaining items since 2/10 were marked as "KEEP UNTIL I DELETE". I'm the only one in the house, so, no one else could have messed with the recorder. All my season passes remain entact.
Contemplating the "Clear & Delete Everything"....but, I don't want to loose the use of my R10 for 24+ hours (as I have read online). Is the sluggish performance, and the odd messages just something I have to live with----having an older R10, with the 6.3f???? Or, should I C&DE?? I don't want to loose my DirecTV Tivo unit to a DTV DVR.
Thanks, John
